Old Greek House Much the same as the foregoing, but with a more authentically "Turkish" accent. This is an old-fashioned family affair run with instinctive Anatolian hospitality: mom, dad, son and the daughter serve the guests with a smile. They inhabit a splendid old Greek mansion which has not seen much renovation since 1923. The upper storey walls are painted with frescoes which seem to date from the 1910s. Amor blossoms in one, a gallant Italian officer fights the bedouin in another. There is an attractive courtyard, a marvellous old staircase, and a genuine Turkish bath. The facilties are primitive (a few rooms are in an unseemly new annex) and the comforts minimal. But the food is homey and good, and the local colour quite unmatched.
